A large detached house for discerning clients in Stratford-upon-Avon that has recently undergone significant extension and improvement.
The brief from this family included the creation of a ‘Secret Garden’ space to offer a space for tranquility and relaxation from their busy professional lives. This included incorporating an existing Scandinavian style Arctic cabin. Reparation work was also required to the existing terrace. It was also important to allow space for the client’s granddaughter to play and for the family Labrador!
The exposed terrace has been enclosed by the inclusion of raised planters and a water feature with a low growing hedge affording views down the garden.
Reached by a sweeping gravel pathway a tall hornbeam hedge divides the garden creating the Secret Garden area with cabin. A reclaimed antique gate furthers the sense of enclosure but offers views through.
Two sweeping borders offer highlights of purple foliage and contrasting oranges as you move down the garden. Scent has been added through the inclusion of flowering shrubs and roses.
