A great opportunity to create an inviting welcome to this new build property in a lovely village in the Cotswolds.
Our clients, both novice gardeners requested a low maintenance garden for the front of their home with pollinator beneficial planting.
The initial stages included removal of existing turf and retention of shrubs and herbaceous for later planting where possible as requested by our clients. This would prevent waste and reduce costs where possible.
The clients requested that the existing paving be retained, however we installed additional paving settes to emphasise the approaches to the front door and side gates. Additional paving was laid to create a utility area for bins and a logstore at the side of the property.
To reflect the Cotswold setting we opted for gravel garden style with Cerney shingle and reclaimed Cotswold stone to provide highlights and reflect the local vernacular.
The planting includes a palette of purple and silver tones of Lavendula and Perovskia contrasted against the yellows of Achillea and for year round interest and structure we included box ball topiary and grasses.
With thanks to the team at Shaun Bennett's Landscaping.
We will be returning to this property in the new year to create a new rear garden.
