Design Process

Following our initial contact we start by asking you to complete a Client Brief.

This will help us to build a picture of your ambitions and how you use your garden currently.

From here we will arrange a convenient time to visit and see what you’ve got now and how you would like to change or add to it.

Your garden may be a a completely blank canvas or an established garden that you have lived with for many years.

From this point we can then look at the process of planning your new garden and the services we offer. There is no charge for this initial visit.

Following this consultation and based on your brief and requirements we will then provide a quotation for the design work.

The process then proceeds as below:

Site analysis and design development

Once you are happy to proceed we then visit your garden to complete a survey of your garden to including any plants or features to be retained.

Sketch designs and 3D images

Developing the design is an iterative process that normally involves a combination of face-to-face meetings and design work. We develop a set of preliminary visual tools to support you in viewing the end-product including 3D visuals to enable you to see and approve specific areas of the garden before implementation work begins. As the design develops we also produce an initial estimate of costs to ensure that the design matches the budget.

Garden design master plans

The design in full – an ariel map depicting all elements of the garden and how they interact.

Planting design

A process to select the right planting scheme to support the individual designs and layout.

Hard landscaping and construction services

We work in partnership with other professional services including Architects, Surveyors, Structural Engineers and Interior Designers where required. We are happy to take commissions as part of larger house renovation projects and to dovetail with the wider build schedule to create seamless outside spaces.

Professional services

We work in partnership with local hard and soft landscapers. When working with a third party we ensure continuity and quality from the start to finish.

Maintenance services and aftercare

Following the planting of your garden we can offer an aftercare and maintenance service.

Or if you prefer to manage your new garden yourself we can produce a maintenance schedule and guide with helpful tips and reminders throughout the year.
